Walking on the edge of civilization

(Ongoing project)

This project is my exploration of the Dutch Nordsea coastline, from the northeast to the southwest. The landscapes I photograph form a natural defense that protects the land from the sea. While this small sliver of land is fragile, it is also ever-shifting; my work focuses on the continuous evolution of the dunes, shaped by the meeting of natural forces. Yet, without a change in human behavior, rising sea levels threaten to erase this unique environment. Ultimately, this project isn't just a warning; it's a powerful statement about the history, current condition, and future of this distinctive landscape.
